Brian's Priesthood

So I'm finally feeling a little better. This Sunday was a very important Sunday. Brian became an Elder! My dad did the blessing and it was so beautiful. We all cried and the spirit was so strong. Brian has come a long way and I'm so proud of him for what he has accomplished. He was suppose to get the priesthood last week, but I was sick so I didn't go to church. I'm glad he waited for me cause I really wanted to be there for that. It was awesome. Now all I have to do is get a temple divorce and we can be sealed. We are both looking forward to that day. On another note, Monday was our 2 year anniversary and we both agreed that it seems like that we've been married longer than that. I think that's a good thing. I'm so glad that I found him and that he made our little family complete. We still have some kinks for work out, but who doesn't? We got to spend the night at the hotel and sleep in, which was great! Anyway, we had a great time and I'm looking forward to many more years!

Interesting Weekend

So I've been so excited for the past few months because I bought tickets to the Kenny Chesney's Poets and Pirates Tour. I love going to concerts but I haven't been to one in a long time. Brian and I both like all kinds of music, but we both love most country music. I asked off work months ago so I worked Friday and the concert was on Saturday. My throat was killing me on Friday at work and so I got Strep test done. Of course it came positive. I called the doctor and got meds and went home and went to bed. I was trying to talk myself into feeling better. By the time Friday night came around Brian was trying to call around and sell the tickets. No takers. So Saturday morning came and he was then calling to see if we could just give them to somebody! Still nobody could go. Who wouldn't want to see Kenny for free? So I got up and took a shower and told myself I was going to be ok. I didn't want to waste $200. It's a 3.5 hour ride to where the concert was and it started at 3:30pm. I tried to sleep most of the way up there and when we got there I was feeling ok. Then the concert started and a girl was singing that I didn't know and then Gary Allen sang, who I didn't know his name, but I knew his songs. Then Sammy Heagar started and that was it for me . I went a slept in the car so I would make it to the end. I missed Keith Urban but I got to see most of Kenny Chesney and he was awesome even though I was out of it. We had to leave early cause I got sick to my stomach and almost didn't make it to the bathroom. I'm sure I looked drunk so I guess I just fit in with everyone else. Brian almost got in a fight cause towards the end we traded our floor tickets for higher ones and these drunk people were dancing and almost kicked me and they were blocking our view. Security asked them several times to move and then the last time Brian had enough and yelled at them. Then of course the drunk guy had to get in his face. Anyway, I guess nobody got hurt so that was good. I didn't feel like bailing anyone out of jail so I told Brian that if he got into a fight he was going to spend the night in jail and I'll go to a hotel! Brian did have to tackle a guy when he was walking me to the car. He was apparently running away from security so Brian decided to help. It brought back good memories for him when he worked in Security. It wasn't quite the experience I was looking for, but I guess I'll always remember it!

So we went to Tucson yesterday to get some real shopping done. Our main goal was to go to Costco and get our bulk shopping done since we don't have one here. We got some other shopping done and of course we ate and then headed for Costco, just to find out it was closed for the holiday! We were very frustrated cause we drove and hour and a half to go. Anyway, we ended up going to this place call Pinnacle Peak. Apparently it was built as a movie set for a Glenn Ford movie and it's a cute little old western place. They had a stunt show which was very cute, an 8 min. train ride around the town (so that tell you how big the town is) and then we just walked around. They have cute shops, which some were closed because if the holiday. Then we had dinner at the steak house there. Here are some pics that we had to take with our phone cause Brian has the camera while he's in Va. We had a fun time and will probably go back if we are in that part of Tucson.

Talyore's First Birthday!

Wow I can't believe it's been a year already since Taylore's been born. She has been a wonderful blessing in our lives. We had a party yesterday for her. A few friends came over and family. It was a fun party, the kids swam and the adults talked and then we all stuffed our faces with yummy food!

The kids had fun in the pool. It was really windy so not all of them swam. Those who did were freezing when they got out.

Of course Taylore didn't blow out the candles, she just wanted to grab them. We didn't have too many themes to choose from so we went with the princess theme!

When it came time to diving into her own cake Taylore was clean and dainty. Brian had to show her how to get down and dirty with her own cake! When it was over she was a pro and very messy!

After the cake was eaten and the mess was made Taylore got a quick bath and then opened presents. Of course I did most of the opening. She just wanted to eat the paper.

We had a great time with everyone. I'm glad that we got to share Taylore's day with friends and family. My mom was sick so she missed the party, hopefully she'll like looking at the pictures. Uncle Dan was there with his dad Willie, I'm glad they were able to make it. Connie was working so my dad could come which I'm grateful for because Taylore loves her Grandpa! I wish more family could be there like back in the day...lol. Our friends that were there made up for that. It was a great party!

Chris's Visit

So Chris came to visit two weekends ago with his friend Patrick. Sorry I'm slacking on posting the pics. He's going to be in California for the summer working and hoping to make lots of money. So on his way there he stoped in for the weekend. It was a short visit be we had fun. Avery misses his uncle.

Avery had fun when Chris and Patrick were throwing him around and doing back flips!

Dad was enjoying a swim

before he had to go

to work. They do

that often!Must be nice huh?

Taylore got sunscreen in her eyes so she wasn't having a fun day in the pool.

They boys went up the mountain behind the house on the ATV's. They came back very dusty but had fun!

The next morning we went to the hotel and had breakfast so Patrick could see the hotel.

Taylore is already learning how to flirt! Whenever she sees a guy she smiles and waves. I guess that means we are going to be in trouble.

It was a great weekend. I wish it could have lasted longer!

Our outing in town!

So for any of you who have been to Sierra Vista you know there is not much to do. Our mall is tiny and not much is in there. We do have however a Bear Connection, which is like Build-a-Bear. So Avery had a half day of school and I actually had the day off so we invited his best friend, Eli, his mom Melinda and his sister Malia to spend the day with us. Avery has been asking me to go since it got put in the mall. So we surprised the kids and took them there.

We have a pizza place in the mall so that is where we had lunch. Avery loves pizza. Brian met us there from work so he could eat lunch with us too! Melinda didn't know she was in the pic...sorry.
Then off the the bear shop we went. Eli got Avery into dinosaurs big time, so they both stuffed 2 dinosaurs. Malia stuffed a crocodile and a lamb. Taylore fell in love with a kitty! In case you've never been there first you pick the animal, then a big machine puts the stuffing in it and then you make a wish on a star, kiss the star and put it in the back of the animal and then zip it up and your done!

This was Avery's wish.
Of course he didn't tell
me what it was!

Taylore had to help put the stuffing in her kitty too!

So after our animal making experience we took the kids to the play area in the mall to let more energy out! The kids had a really good time and so did Melinda and I.

Taylore kept trying so hard to climb
up the tree slide so play with the big kids.

Spaghetti Eating Dancing Baby

So Taylore had her first spaghetti eating experience. As you can see she enjoyed herself. She had it all down her belly and in her diaper. Of course she ate naked.

She's also started to appreciate the art of music by dancing. Today she was dancing to Mickey Mouse Club House and than she was dancing to something on the radio with Brian. She looks so cute when she's dancing and smiling. She loves shaking her booty.

We also signed Avery up for football today. He had a choice to do either flag or tackle. Of course he chose tackle. I'm hoping that this will toughen him up a little. He's very excited and can't wait. It doesn't start until Aug. so he's going to have to wait a little while. He's going to miss soccer season I think but he wanted to try football. My cousin Robert on my dad's side is getting married the first weekend of May so my parents are going to be in Utah for a week. They are taking Avery with them. So it's going to be weird not to get up with him everyday and pick him up from school. I'm sure I'll live.
